Holiday Movies?
December 7th 2006 22:33
Early reports on two very different movies might mean you want to take a pass on either, or both, of them.
The Nativity has opened in the US to lukewarm reviews and box office. Early word on this film is that it is respectful, but plodding and uninspired; an unimaginative re-telling in the
s-l-o-w-e-s-t Hallmark tradition.
Inland Empire, which director David Lynch spent two and a half years creating, is, according to many viewers, indecipherable. Not a great thing at the end of a mystery genre movie, although The Big Sleep was an exception. The only bright point is a reportedly superb performance by Laura Dern.
You might want to hold onto what holiday cash you have left for a bit.
