Wanted
March 8th 2008 23:26
I'm a fan of the actors in the new movie Wanted (due out in the States this summer), so I thought I'd pass on some info.
The trailer is here Movie Trailer and
The movie stars Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, whom I've admired since Children of Dune, and who is in almost every other movie these days, Morgan Freeman, and Terence Stamp.
It is directed by Timur Bekmambetov. No, I haven't seen his previous films, which include writing the screenplay for Night Watch (English title), and Enjoy Your New Happiness!, also known as The Irony of Fate.
He also directed Night Watch and Enjoy etc.
I've no idea of the quality, just couldn't resist the pictures

Not the biggest Jolie fan, especially when she has guns and cars - they haven't done a lot for her in her previous flicks.
I agree about McAvoy - talk about overnight sensation! But he is good.

I hear what you're saying, and yet....
I think I first saw Angelina Jolie in Gia. It was just something that was on.
Her performance blew me away. I thought, who is this gal? It was so emotionally naked and brave, to me.
I think I saw her next in The Bone Collector. Now one of my favorite films because of how the actors play the characters. Just a solid story with very good perfomances. (And the fact that my oldest cat always thinks there's a bird in the television, or behind it, when the falcon cries in the movie – so funny to watch her hunting it
Came across Girl, Interrupted, and it isn't a favorite of mine, though I thought Jolie and Whoopi Goldberg were o.k. Maybe it was Winona Ryder, or just an uninteresting story to me, but haven't seen it again.
Thought she was very cocky in the first Lara Croft, but, still liked it, and the sequel. I like stories where gals can be different and bold (including the recent Grindhouse movies by Tarantino and Rodrigues). I like it when women can be wives, students, CEO's or superheroes.
The Croft bra contraption was a bit much, but, I understand that was part of the game character. Bet you and I could have a conversation, from a female point of view, on that subject
Thought her character was a lot more fun than Gwyneth Paltrow in Sky Captain, and Jude Law, sorry, just lackluster...
Didn't like much of anything about Alexander, thought she was fine in Taking Lives; Mr & Mrs Smith was sexy and amoral in a Prizzi's Honor kind of way.
Her charity work on behalf of others is immense and incredible to me; her kiss with her brother, self-cutting and relationship with Billy Bob Thornton were strange/weird.
And although she's looking very thin lately, still, probably one of the most beautiful actresses in the world.
I don't know – is saying Jolie doesn't need another movie where she carries a gun like saying Bruce Willis or Mel Gibson shouldn't carry one in another film either?

I am a Jolie fan..especially when she has guns and can kick ass...I loved her as Lara Croft! (love that she's this earth mother type in real life and a kill 'em all type in reel life!).
Can't stand her troubled female portrayals ('Girl, Interrupted' and the one with Billy Bob and John Cusask)...one dimensional. Am over her wild child, graffiti wall image.
She needs to do a comedy. What's the point of having such a great mouth is she doesn't use it to make others smile and laugh!
(Michaelie hon...you need to give her pointers!)
...and I first saw McAvoy in 'King of Scotland' and I do enjoy his screen presence. I'm just glad I haven't watched 'Atonement' (and never will)...that would have put me off him for life!
Is there any film Morgan Freeman hasn't been in recently??
Thanks for the sneak peek Jarrah.

My favorite picture of all the stills out for Wanted is the top picture of A.J.'s back, with, I think, her own tattoos. Stunning
I clicked on your link to the article about the family, as told by the older brother. Hmmmm.......
It is cool, as you say, that her real life as earth mother is partly funded by her reel life as sexy assassin.
